The Surya-siddhanta is a challenging read. The translation is helpful, but the astronomical concepts are complex. I appreciated the historical context, though it’s difficult at point to grasp. Requires serious dedication, but offers insights into ancient Hindu astronomy, wished to know more clearly about the date.

A fascinating, albeit dense, look at ancient Indian astronomy. While the “Surya-siddhanta” translation is fair, the subject is inherently complex. The historical discussion provided is valueable. I am still confused with some calculations. Worthwhile for those with a strong interest in the history of science!
