Not my favorite Waugh. The plot meandered, and I struggled to connect with Pinfold. Some funny moments, though.

Enjoyable, but not Waugh’s strongest work. The hallucinations felt a bit repetitive at times. Worth a read if you like his style.

Waugh’s wit shines through, but Pinfold’s ordeal felt a bit too drawn out. Still, an interesting exploration of mental breakdown.

A decent read, but not particularly memorable. Some clever moments, but overall, it didn’t leave a lasting impression.

Waugh at his best! Witty, satirical, and surprisingly poignant. Pinfold’s descent into madness is both tragic and funny.

Interesting concept, but the execution felt a bit uneven. Pinfold’s character wasn’t particularly likable.

I struggled to get into this book. The characters were unappealing and the plot felt disjointed. Disappointing.

Waugh’s unique style shines in this tale of a man’s unraveling. The humor is dark, and the story compelling.

A bizarre and fascinating story. Waugh’s writing is sharp and insightful. I was thoroughly entertained.
