11 reviews for Peer Gynt and Brand

  1. Nandini Rathi

The editor did an excellent job. Peer Gynt was much more enjoyable than Brand. Both are worth a read for fans of classic literature.

  2. Anuvrinda Sharma

Peer Gynt is an absolute masterpiece! Brand, while interesting, didn’t resonate as much. Great introduction and notes, though.

  3. Raveesh

Peer Gynt is fantastic. Brand feels a bit dated, but still interesting. Ibsen at his finest! Get this edition! It’s well done.

  4. Kavya Yadav

Peer Gynt is wild! Brand, though… a bit heavy-handed. Laurence’s intro helped. Overall, a worthwhile, if uneven, Ibsen experience.

  5. Somya

Ibsen is brilliant. This book includes two excellent plays, though one is better. Peer Gynt is much better. Worth the money.

  6. Manan Anand

Ibsen’s plays are always thought-provoking. This edition is well-edited, but Brand felt a bit preachy for my taste. Peer Gynt was excellent.

  7. Shikhar Pratap

Good edition, but Brand was hard to get through. Peer Gynt was good. I may consider other books by this author.

  8. Avdhut Arjun Rane

Loved the translations! Ibsen’s genius shines through, especially in Peer Gynt. Brand was harder to connect with, but still powerful.

  9. Chetna Joshi

A good introduction to Ibsen. Peer Gynt’s fantastical journey is captivating, but I struggled to fully grasp the themes in Brand. Good edition overall.

  10. Alok Kumar Dubey

Ibsen’s genius shines in these plays! Peer Gynt is funny and profound. Brand is more difficult but rewarding. Recommended to everyone.

  11. Aditya Kumar Jaiswal

Excellent translations! Ibsen’s insights are timeless. Peer Gynt is the stronger of the two, but Brand is still worth reading. Highly recommended!
