I had mixed feelings. The historical accuracy is impressive, but the romantic elements felt forced. Still, a decent portrayal of Caesar’s Rome.
Karan Gurbani –
The author paints a vivid picture of Rome. It can feel dense, so not a light read. I struggled with the writing style, but still a very good history book!
Mohammad Fahim Faisal –
Interesting take on Roman history, focusing on the women. It got slow at times, but the ending kept me hooked. Solid historical fiction!
Lisha –
I enjoyed the glimpse into the lives of Roman women, but the pacing felt uneven. Some parts were gripping, others dragged on. Still worth reading.
Mohd. Aqdas –
A brilliant and detailed exploration of the women behind Caesar. At times overwhelming with information, but ultimately a rewarding read.
Darshit Pokarna –
Loved learning about the political maneuvering! Some of the character development felt weak, and a few plot points felt unresolved.
Naman Saini –
An epic story of power, love, and betrayal. While I enjoyed it, it could have been shorter. A deep dive into a complex period, so I rate it:
Shivam Aditya Singh –
McCullough’s research is evident, and the story is immersive. However, I found Caesar himself a bit one-dimensional. Overall, a good historical novel.

A captivating read! McCullough brings ancient Rome to life. The political intrigue was intense, though at times the sheer number of characters was confusing.
