Aditi Bhardwaj –
A decent historical fiction read. The descriptions of London were vivid. I wanted a bit more depth from some of the supporting characters.
Aman Deshraj –
An alright book. Some of the language felt a bit anachronistic, and the plot dragged in the middle. Kitty’s character was very compelling.
Selven George Cristi –
Kitty’s journey kept me hooked! I found the plot a little slow in places, but the characters were well-developed and the ending was satisfying.
Nikhilesh –
A solid historical novel with a strong female lead. It could have explored some themes more deeply, but overall a good experience.
Aman Singh –
Song’s writing style is immersive. The themes of loyalty and resilience resonated with me, though the ending was somewhat predictable.
Sagar Kumar –
Mermaids Singing is a darkly beautiful story of resilience. I enjoyed the historical details, but the ending felt a bit abrupt. Worth a read though!
Anupam Saggar –
I enjoyed learning about mud-larks and life in Victorian London. The abuse was hard to read, but important to the story.
Harsh Hemnani –
The writing is beautiful, and Kitty’s struggles are vividly portrayed. It was an okay read.
Lalit Kumar Chauhan –
A compelling read! Kitty’s story is heartbreaking yet inspiring. The Victorian setting is richly detailed. Some parts felt a bit rushed. Overall, a good book.
Sahil Chahal –
I loved the atmosphere of this book! Kitty is a very sympathetic character. The plot was engaging, but a bit predictable at times. Still worth reading.
Karan Khurana –
A gripping tale of survival in Victorian London. Song paints a stark picture of poverty and hardship, but there are also moments of hope and friendship.
Bhavanya –
This book was a good read! I was rooting for Kitty from start to finish. The historical setting was richly realized. I would recommend.
